I’ve always been a big proponent for ‘fair” greens, meaning that if you hit the front of the cage or cut through, you should land on a flat surface within the first foot or two and have a reasonable expectation to come to rest near the basket. If you miss hitting metal and fly by – well good luck, but I find roll-aways to be a little fluky and over punishing for the crime committed. The downside to having the terracing is that some shots will deflect off the logs and possibly roll-away, but after a couple of years with the terraces we’ve found that more shots stay on the green than that roll or deflect away. So we’re calling them a huge success!

I totally agree. The evolution of your skill at visualizing, then designing and finally implementing these terraces is amazing. This, along with the support work being done around the teepads is part of what sets Cam 2 apart from some of the other local courses. The knowledge is growing exponentially. Can’t wait to see the next one.
